Our guests for this month, Jay & Dave--have only been together since last summer and already they are building a stable fan base in the Stockton and Sacramento area.
With a mellow, yet funky mix of reggae, rock and soul--the guys are currently set to finish their debut album El Nino and are in the midst of putting together a complete band.
Since childhood, singer-songwriter (and avid vinyl album collector) Jay Blaine, had always invisioned himself in the spotlight.
Jay, from Sacramento, has influences ranging from Michael Jackson, Bob Marley and Led Zepellin to 1980s rap, 90s alternative rock, jazz and classic soul.
On the other hand, Stockton's, Dave Sanders has been pluckin' the strings since the age of 13 drawing his style from a pleothera of musical influences including: Nirvana, Alice In Chains , Iron Maiden, Joe Satriani and Jack Johnson to name a few.
It was Dave who convinced Jay to perform with him at an open mic last year. The rest, as they say, is history.
